Other airway equipment

Swivel adapters are availbale from several manufacturers. They vary slightly in their design but are basically a 90 degree rotating elbow connector between an anesthetic breathing system and an airway (such as an SGA or ET tube) with an additional access port which can be used for fiberoptic bronchoscopy, suction catheters, bronchial blockers, etc. The access port can usually be occluded/ capped with a seal which allows ongoing positive pressure ventilation.
