Securing the endotracheal tube

There are any number of ways to secure an endotracheal tube. We have listed just a few that we find useful. If you use another technique, let us know!

Preventing dislodgement is particularly important in situations where the initial intubation was difficult or where re-intubation during surgery is not easily possible, such as during prone positioning or operations where the patient's airway is not accessible to the anesthesiologist, e.g. neurosurgery or some head and neck surgery.
